We had a splendid week and acquitted ourselves well. We were particularly pleased with our performances of
the Schütz Cantate Domino (this choir sounds
accurate but doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word 'dynamics'- it's just loud all the way through!) and the
Millington Missa Alme Pater (sadly, I can find no decent recording on the web) which we'd not done
before and which were pretty difficult.
We also sang at a wedding on Saturday afternoon, and that went well, too. We did our own director's setting of
some text from the Song of Solomon, Set me as a seal which is lovely, Howells O pray for the peace of
Jerusalem and Viadana Exultate Justi which people seemed to like.
